Our Story
She’s C-Suite (SCS) is designed for the black woman who is at a Director level, Vice President level through C-level executive -- who wants to transform her life and step into her professional power by changing the narrative no matter the challenges or circumstances, replacing silence with being the teller of her own story.
The Why?
After working over a decade as a disability policy thought-leader and c-suite, Tonia Ferguson, President & CEO of She's C-Suite, desired to utilize her experiences differently and needed a safe space with black women in the C-Suite. She soon discovered that other black women like herself were experiencing similar or various challenges in the workplace. Many of these women had taken power seats yet did not feel seen or happy, which resulted in many of them exiting jobs they had fought to keep.
Tonia started meeting with this group of women and found solace as they shared personal stories of trials, tribulations, and triumphs in the workplace. They often talked about the dirty little secret - that it is soul-ravaging to Black women who rise each day, smiling on the outside but silently bearing the brunt of the world on their shoulders. The expectation is that she must "juggle it all”; exhausted from having to show up and hold it together day in and day out while being a boss lady:
Thus, She’s C-Suite was born.
She's C-Suite provides a playbook for our members so they may turn stumbling blocks into stepping stones toward authentic, courageous, and impactful leadership for success to bring their whole selves to the table and lead boldly and unapologetically.
Our Three Key Pillars
-
Self-Awareness
The first pillar is Self-Awareness. Creating clarity means becoming self-aware. Self-Awareness requires you to zoom in and out:
-Seeing the broader strategic picture of your life while anticipating obstacles.
-Adjusting priorities.
-Focusing on yourself.
-Creating a space in your daily life to explore who you are.
Self-Awareness is critical to being an authentic leader. Therefore, we utilize your experiences, education, and desired goals to design your playbook to accept the beauty and glory of who you are.
She’s C-Suite believes in walking the walk, not just talking the talk and releasing the worries around what other people will think and step fully into the Black woman you are - regardless of the outcome.

Self-Care
The second pillar is Self-Care—maintaining a healthy relationship with yourself. Self-care is an essential part of leadership; leaders should be spending a significant amount of time doing things to take care of their minds, bodies, and souls.
Creating a regular self-care practice is a learned process that requires a mindset of self-awareness. Doing so enhances our ability to fully, vibrantly, and effectively show up as our authentic selves.
In addition, the practice of self-care reminds you and others that your needs are valid and a priority. And we cannot forget about Collective-care which serves the same function but instead encompasses activities that are neither solitary nor done in isolation but in community.
She’s C-Suite believes in providing Collective-care – a safe space for black women to find their voice, amplify it, talk it out, breathe, get support from your sister community, and love on ourselves with style and grace!

Self-Education
Leadership is not effective unless you continue to self-educate —the third pillar. Self-education shows you are committed to being both learner and teacher. Leadership is a privilege and a huge responsibility and requires continual mastery of competencies for success.
Self-Education can help women leaders brush up on their hard and soft skills. While experience and potential can help women succeed in C-suite positions, continuous learning will also help them progress as a leader and grow in their roles both personally and professionally.
She's C-Suite (SCS) believes in prioritizing learning and understanding to disrupt the status quo. As a result, SCS's educational and learning network is unique and cutting-edge while equipping you with the framework, perspective, and strategies for elevation and visibility to enable you to go to the next level.
